Where did the name come from? ''pair of'' + ''grin'', evoking ''peregrine''
What is the tuxemon based on? The peregrine species of falcons.
Pairagrin are young, two‑headed falcons that struggle with coordination. Their early flight is clumsy, marked by short hovers, uneven wingbeats, and frequent soft crashes as the two heads learn to act together. They feed mostly on insects and small invertebrates and are protected from a distance by their Pairagrim parents, who intervene only when necessary. Pairagrin are playful and carefree while under this hidden protection, becoming more cautious as they begin fending for themselves. Their evolution is associated with overcoming the natural hardships of early life and gaining enough experience to synchronize their movements.
Found in the wild on Route 1.
