A [[Shopkeeper]] blocks the path to the Pachisi tiles. When you talk to them, you have the opportunity to pay $200. They move out of the way, you step forward, then they close you off again so you have to pass through the Pachisi tiles. After paying the $200, you get $200 worth of credits (displayed in the top right of the screen).

When you step on a tile, an effect triggers depending on the tile. Then a die is rolled on the screen, and you move forward as many spaces as it indicates. Repeat until your Pachisi game ends for whatever reason (in which case you are shunted immediately to the end of the tiles, unless you blacked out in which case you wake out at a centre as usual), or you get to the end.
