Bonding
Revision as of 11:56, 21 January 2024 by Sanglorian (talk | contribs)
Bonding measures how fond a monster is of its owner.
- A newly-captured or traded monster would have a Bond of 25. The minimum would be 0 and the maximum 100.
- For every X steps (maybe 1,000?), each monster in the player's party gains +1 Bond.
- Each time a monster is knocked out, it loses 10 Bond.
- Bond is not displayed, but a general sentence is: "X despises [player name]" (Bond 0-20), "X is wary of [player name]" (Bond 21-50), "X gets along with [player name]" (Bond 51-75), "X adores [player name]" (Bond 76-100).
The bonding mechanics need to be activated for each campaign, by giving the Friendship Scroll to the player.
Ideas[edit | edit source]
- Items that improve or worsen Bond
- Mini-games you can play with your monsters to improve their Bond
- Buffs in combat for monsters with high-enough Bonds (maybe they gain X% chance to resist negative and neutral conditions imposed by the enemy)
- Debuffs for monsters with low-enough Bonds (maybe there is a 10% chance to disobey at Bonds of 25 or lower).
