A tuxemon's "species name" is a word that describes the tuxemon in some way. For example, [[Bigfin]] is the "Island Tuxemon" because it has a small island on its back. [[Axylightl]] is the "Inchoate Tuxemon" (which means "not fully formed") because the axolotl is the juvenile form of the salamander. Species names are a way of hinting at another aspect of the tuxemon or at its design origins. Β

All monsters in Set 1 with the [[Dragon]] body shape have the "Dragon" or "False Dragon" species names. Neither of the Dragons in Set 2 ([[Saurchin]] and [[Dinoflop]]) have these species names.
So far, all monsters with the [[Dragon]] body shape have the "Dragon" or "False Dragon" species names.
